Rotary Lobsterfest 2020
LOBSTERFEST IS HAPPENING DIFFERENTLY IN 2020 - AND WE HOPE YOU'LL BE A PART OF OF IT!
Lobsterfest has been a highlight on the Guelph calendar since 1980, and we’re not letting Covid-19 stop this 40-year legacy … especially not during Rotary Guelph’s centennial year!
While we can’t hold our usual dinner-dance-auction at the ICC, we’ve come up with a Covid Variation, and we need YOU to help make it a success.
DELICIOUS MEALS TO GO: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
- Lobster Roll OR St. Louis Style BBQ Ribs accompanied by potato salad, coleslaw, dill pickles and cherry cheesecake to take home and enjoy with family and friends
- Prepared by the ICC chefs
- Drive-by pickup from the ICC
- Meals priced at $75 include a donation to Rotary (tax receipt for $40)
- Order your meals by September 17:
- Order by filling in the form or by calling Rosemary at 519-822-4687
- Receive your order confirmation from Rotary on September 18
- Pickup instructions and time will be sent to you several days before Saturday, September 26
- Please let us know if you require a Rotarian to deliver your meal.
OUR LOBSTERFEST ONLINE AUCTION: SEPTEMBER 11-18
- Wonderful auction items, as in previous years – you’ll definitely want to take a look!
- Online bidding will take place from September 11-18 – more information to follow
- Winning bidders will be notified to pick up their items from the ICC on September 26
HELPING ROTARY HELP OTHERS
This year, with a focus on health and wellbeing, we’re supporting local families, frontline workers in the pandemic, and well as many other programs and projects, both locally and internationally. Two new projects we’re committed to this year are for Water & Sanitation:
- In Uganda, providing a well and 12 latrines for 600 students and 12 teachers at an elementary school, plus a chain link fence for school safety.
- In Ontario, supporting vulnerable Indigenous communities via an organization called “Water First” whose internship program will train and assist up to 20 Indigenous youths to become provincially certified water operators. You can read more about this great program on our website here.
