District Service Project - Volunteer at Feeding America Food Bank

Come join your fellow District 5340 Rotarians for a fun-filled morning and hands-on service project as we volunteer at the Feeding America warehouse.

Spouses, friends and children 6+ years old are welcome and we'd love to have them join in on the fun!

Date: Saturday, August 6th

Time: 9am - 12pm
Location: Feeding America Distribution Center
Address: 9455 Waples Street #135, San Diego, CA 92121
Cost: $9.99 (includes lunch)

Please wear close-toed shoes as we'll be working in a warehouse.

Feeding America may have us help with a number of different projects depending on what's needed at the time, including:
  • Filling bags with fresh produce to be later delivered to children in need
  • Sorting food that has been pulled from grocery store shelves to prevent it from reaching the landfill and instead into the hands of families in need
  • Repacking bulk product received by Feeding America

We'll work in the Distribution Center from 9-11am. Then at 11am, we'll head back to the front of the building to their Volunteer Lounge for pizza, salad and beverages.

Feeding America San Diego helps feed more than 16,000 children, families and seniors in our local community every week! They are always accepting food donations and volunteers are welcome to bring any donations from their club with them.

We hope you can join us on August 6th!
