The Rotary Clubs of Edmonton and Edmonton West are honoured to welcome Hon. Anne McLellan, PC, OC, AOE as a guest speaker for a joint meeting of the two clubs.

Ms McLellan served four terms as the Liberal MP for Edmonton Centre, during which time she served as deputy prime minister of Canada, as well as holding various portfolios including public safety and emergency preparedness, health, justice and attorney general of Canada, and natural resources. She joined Bennett Jones LLP in its Edmonton office in July 2006. 
Ms. McLellan serves on the boards of Summit REIT and Invest Alberta Corporation.  Among her many community commitments, she is chair of the boards of Pearson College UWC and the Institute for Research on Public Policy, as well as of the TELUS Edmonton Community Board.  She also serves on the board of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and is a member of the TMX/ICD Committee on the Future of Canadian Corporate Governance.

In May 2015, Ms. McLellan became Dalhousie University’s seventh chancellor, a position she held until May 2020.  In July 2009, Ms. McLellan was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada and in October 2013, she received the Alberta Order of Excellence.  From 1980 to 1992, Ms. McLellan was a professor in the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law and served as both associate dean (1985 to 1987) and acting dean (1991 to 1992).  She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a law degree from Dalhousie University and a Master of Laws degree from King’s College, University of London.

Ms. McLellan serves as co-chair of the Coalition for a Better Future, a diverse group of over 130 organizations focusing on sustainable, inclusive economic growth.

Meal cost is $25 payable in cash or by cheque at the door. Credit Cards or Debit Cards NOT accepted at the door. If you pay for your attendence now by credit or debit card, there will be NO refund if you do not attend. PARKING

Parking for those attending the luncheon meeting in-person is available in Lot 5108, accessible off 116 Street, south of Saskatchewan Drive for $5.50 between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM.  Remember your license plate number. You can pay for parking at the machines located at the southeast corner of the lot or in the lobby of the University Club, or using the Honk Mobile App. Note that fines for illegal parking at the U of A are substantial. Don't be late to return to your vehicle.

If attending in person please register before 12 noon MDT Wednesday October 19th.  Rotary Club Edmonton (downtown) members may Login using ClubRunner ID.  All others must enter name and other details as a guest before proceeding to Select Options.   Note there are NO refunds.
