You are invited to our 4th Annual Walk to End Polio! 

Rotaractors and Rotarians will join forces to raise money to help End Polio! We will be completing the 5 Bridges walk starting in Balboa Park and ending with Breakfast Burritos and Mimosas. All fitness levels are welcome! We have had Rotarians run, walk and even bike the course. We encourage you to wear your END POLIO NOW gear! 
 
Check in will be at 8am on Sunday October 22, 2023
Park at the Natural History Museum there is plenty of free parking. You won't miss our check in table. 
Walk will begin at 8:30am and end at the Botanical Garden. 
 
Our goal is to have 50 participants and raise $1,000 as a District!

Walk Route

Distance: 3.5 miles
1) Start
Corner of the Spanish Village Art Center
1770 Village Pl, San Diego, CA 92101
Head east on Village Place toward Park Blvd. Cross the street towards the east side
of Park Blvd and head south towards the Desert Garden, follow the paved path.

2) 1st Bridge
Park Boulevard Bridge
Cross the first bridge of our route! You will now find yourself near the San Diego
Natural History Museum. Walk towards the Bea Evenson Fountain and head west on
El Prado. Head west about 0.4 miles to reach the next bridge.

3) 2nd Bridge
Cabrillo Bridge
Continue west for 0.5 mile until you reach First Avenue. Head north on First Avenue
for 0.2 miles.

4) 3rd Bridge
First Avenue Bridge
You have made it to the third bridge of our walk! Continue north for 0.3 miles until
you reach the intersection of First Avenue and Spruce Street. Turn left onto Spruce Street.
Head west for 0.1 miles to reach the fourth bridge of our walk.

5) 4th Bridge
Spruce Street Suspension Bridge
You have made it to the fourth bridge!!! Enjoy the views on this historic bridge built
in 1912! Make sure to loop back where you came from, do not go through the bridge!

6) 5th Bridge
Quince Street Bridge
Head east on Spruce Street for 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection of Spruce
Street and Third Avenue. Turn right onto Third Avenue. Head south for 0.1 miles!
You have made it to the final bridge of our walk! Walk across the bridge, don't forget to
stop for a pic!
