Closer to Home Community Services is a charitable organization located in Calgary SW that offers a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of children, youth and families. You can read more about them on their website https://calgaryclosertohome.com
 
Closer to Home's Stampede Street Party is a free community event that will bring together their clients, donors, funders, community businesses and members, politicians and more. It is intended to help foster a greater sense of community amongst attendees and the local neighbourhood. It will also help Closer to Home raise awareness about their organization and the work they do empowering families to stay together.
 
Because they are such a great organization we have agreed to cook the food for them.
 
The event will include Indigenous drumming and dancing, live music, a petting zoo, face painting and henna, games, and free food (bbq burgers, hotdogs for the kids, and veggie burgers). 
 
We need 20 volunteers, which means we need you! 
 
Parking is on the street where ever you can find spots. Alternatively, there is a c-train stop pretty much across the street.
